As the
ember months’ herald the celebration of Christmas, kidnappers in Nsukka have
risen at different parts of the zone in attempt to abduct unsuspecting victims
for ransom. At Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State, a five-man gang of
kidnappers operating in a Volkswagen car with number plate KWL 12 AM invaded
the house of a Shell oil company retiree and bundled him into their waiting
vehicle and sped off to an unknown destination. Kidnap-syndicate The victim
identified as Romanus Eze, who hails from
Imilike-Ani in Udenu Local Government Area was said to be getting ready
to travel to Enugu when the kidnappers whisked him away in the presence of his
wife. A dependable source told Vanguard that the victim was blindfolded with
hands and legs tied after severe beating.
